Writing About Pets / Animals

English and Literature

Grades: Middle school and high school Workshop length: 120 to 180 minutes

Have you imagined what your cat would say if she could talk? Or what your dog thinks about your daily routine? In this workshop, students will dive into creating animal characters and bringing them to life from a non-human perspective. They will read global stories told from animal POVs and explore their own narratives. This workshop is about venturing into imagination and empathy, helping participants think beyond themselves. Students may even explore animals like squirrels and foxes in the Taragaon vicinity for inspiration and research.
