Waste Reimagined

Environment and Ecology

Grade level: 1 onwards Time: 60 mins

Waste Reimagined is an educational program inspired by the sculptures created out of waste by multidisciplinary artist, Saurab Koirala. The program uses the artist’s sculptures created from scrap materials like metal and plastic and shaped into animals, birds, and insects as a way to have conversations around themes of ecology, sustainability, materiality, creativity, and human–nature relationships. Through guided observation, dialogue, material exploration, and hands-on experience, learners are encouraged to think critically and reflect the idea of waste and reimagine discarded materials as carriers of meaning, stories, and possibilities.
