Saurab Koirala

Saurab Koirala is a fine artist, sculptor, illustrator, and cartoonist based in Kathmandu, Nepal. He is a self-taught artist whose work captures the essence of Nepal’s rural landscapes, vibrant cityscapes, and rich cultural heritage through bold textures and vivid colors.

Nature is his primary source of inspiration. The forms, shapes, and spirit of animals, flora, and fauna deeply influence his creative process. Inspired by his treks across Nepal and interactions with local communities, he weaves narratives of nature and society into his paintings, sculptures, illustrations, and cartoons.

His artwork has been showcased in Kathmandu’s annual national exhibitions, where he has received special awards for his illustrations.

In 2018, he explored sustainable art through metal sculptures made from recycled materials during a month-long residency at the Sagarmatha Next WastArt Workshop at Taragaon Next.
