Greetings from Taragaon Next!
Taragaon Next is an urban oasis, designed for people across generations and interests, to gather for dialogue, inquiry and debate, and influence and build an urban culture for future generations, which is inclusive and sustainable. We offer students the chance to discover Nepalese culture, learn about the history of the Kathmandu Valley, and engage with its present and future. Our educational programs include guided museum tours and interactive activities that promote curiosity and critical thinking. We partner with schools to enrich students’ learning and foster a deeper connection to the world around them.
Guided Tour- Taragaon Next:
Join us for a guided tour every Thursday from 3 PM onwards, and explore the unique architecture and history of Taragaon Museum, designed by Austrian architect Carl Pruscha.
On this tour, visitors will experience Taragaon’s architectural heritage, engage with artists in studio spaces, visit the amphitheater, design store, and contemporary gallery, and learn about our ongoing programs and events.
Taragaon Next is Kathmandu’s first contemporary space dedicated to heritage, urban planning, culture, and the arts. Our mission is centered on culture, community, and urbanization, not only archiving the region’s history but also bringing it to life through dynamic projects that connect with the local community.
Set within our modernist, modular brick structures, Taragaon offers a space for reflection, creativity, and meaningful conversations about Kathmandu’s evolving urban landscape.
