An exhibition by Sarah Burack, a full bright researcher and artist who has engaged with the roots of traditional metal crafting in Nepal. This exhibition is a culmination of her research, practice and learning with her mentor, a traditional Neplase artist Manik Man Shakya, with whom the craft has been a pass down through generations. Exploring the repousse and chasing techniques of “Thojya” and “Kattaja,” the Newari way in Nepal, the exhibition also directs a lens towards the preservation of this traditional craft and gives a peek into the intricacies of the sculptor’s practice.
