With the onset of the pandemic, in 2020, after nearly a decade of programming at the Museum, the Saraf Foundation decided to pause and rethink the significance of our existing space and its impact on the community. As we move towards more inclusive, experiential, and immersive culture centers across the globe, Varun Saraf initiated an extensive reflective exercise – to reinforce our mission and begin again. 

We re-launched our space as Taragaon Next in 2023, with a strategic framework to propel the cultural ecosystem of Kathmandu into the future – a contemporary and innovative project that remains connected to our emerging urban histories.
